Now that I think about, Alexi Lalas with the curly hair is dead on! Okay so maybe we had to wait until our 6th or 7th game to score a goal but when we did the entire place erupted. And I am not kidding! Mills had tried so hard to get a goal and in his mind that was all that mattered. We tried to teach him that it was about his team scoring and not him. I think we sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher because he was set on scoring a goal. When he finally did, he ran off the field and jumped into my arms. He was done for the day. He had done what he came to do!! The next game, he had the fever. Once he got one, he wanted more! He even went so far as to take his hands and try to "place" the ball so it would go into the goal. Hilarious!! We had a great team and an absolutely fabulous coach, West Beaver. We love the Beavers!! By the end of the season, he scored 13 goals total. By his count!!
This sums up the season!
